The Story
Movitrade.com was humbly started in response to the lack of marketplaces and cash value for used DVDs and video games. Founders Nick Martowski and Seda Girisken had amassed a large collection of movies and games and could not get fair value at any stores offering buybacks. In fact, buyback rates were so astoundingly terrible, the founders were inspired to start their own online marketplace for media fans where everyone could sell their used items for solid value.
Nick and Seda knew that everyone loves movies and games, especially at great prices. But why pay $60 for a new video game or $25 for a new movie when thousands of people are ready to sell their used copies? Video game stores offer a few dollars for games that sold $50 a few weeks earlier, and DVD stores buy back only some best-selling DVDs at awful prices as well. So why not create a place where media lovers can sell their own movies and games at good prices to other fans looking for good deals? We did.
